TUESDAY 25 JUNE 2019
Easy start to the day as we only had to go to Charnley River
Wilderness Camp which was only roughly 3 hours away.
On the way we stopped into Mt Barnett Roadhouse to refuel,
buy more drinking water, refill the van’s water tanks and a bit of grocery
shopping.
As we were waiting in line to fill the van’s tanks we
chatted to a couple with a Jayco and he had the usual Jayco issues such as
drawers opening and emptying themselves on the floor etc.
We arrived at Charnley after a very dusty 30 km trip on
their driveway and found the campsite is quite large and mostly of a grass type
covering. Not lush green lawn but way
better than dirt we have had since Broome and they are doing their best to keep
it alive with the campground hosts constantly moving sprinklers around.
We found a couple of dust entry points that have developed
but the PPDSS has kept the dust from spreading in the van and most surfaces
remain clean. Larry will silicon the
gaps tomorrow as he can’t be bothered doing them now.
Once again we had options of driving out to gorges/swimming
holes or sitting on our butts drinking tea and reading our books. Suffice to say another couple of chapters
were knocked off.
A delicious meal of steak and veg followed by a chill out
session, as we are on holiday after all. That said the dingoes howling in the
distance ensures we are not feeling like we are at home in Perth.
