SUNDAY 30 JUNE 2019
A bit weary from the walk/climb into and out of Bell Gorge
and as we only had a 2 hour drive we just couldn’t be bothered getting out of
bed this morning.
Eventually Larry got out and made the Nesprosso’s and we sat
in bed consuming these before dragging our butts out of the warmth. Slow pack
up even though we didn’t have to do much and off we went again back onto the
GRR and off again at the turn off to Mt Hart. Pleasantly surprised with the
facilities and semi grass camping area and a friendly camp host advised what
the go was and she turned off a sprinkler as we were eyeing off a site that
backed onto the creek so here we are at our last place on the Gibb.
We had soup and toasted sandwiches for lunch. To quote
someone from 3 years ago “what can’t that Weber do”. The toasted sandwiches
today (but it probably would do the soup as well). After that we couldn’t be bothered going
anywhere and it was so nice to just sit and relax overlooking the creek so we just
sat in our chairs with a cup of tea and read our books for a while.
Eventually we finished our chapters and so headed out to a water
hole about 4kms away (Barker’s Pool) but it was hard to actually get in to the
water from the steep banks so we gave up the idea of a swim and went back to
the bar and Larry had a couple of beers (perhaps the reason he was so easily
dissuaded from swimming). We bought an
hour’s worth of internet and found out the Eagles had won yesterday and caught
up with emails etc.
Back to the van and sitting in the early evening shade next
to the creek enjoying our sometimes serenity. Not really anything else to
report as it was a casual day and we will be doing the exploring of Mt Hart
tomorrow. Any easy dinner of leftover
Honey Mustard Chicken (frozen from Munurra campsite) and rice from last night.
